OVERVIEW
Overview
You are at the Museo del Prado. It’s late in the afternoon. Most visitors have already left when the alarms begin to sound. The doors seal automatically. The Meninas have disappeared. Not a secondary artwork. Not a small room. One of the museum’s most important paintings. The strange thing is: There are no broken glass shards. No disabled cameras. No signs of forced entry. It’s as if the painting simply... evaporated. The police arrive within minutes. No one can leave. And the case is taken personally by Police Chief Choi Soobin.
Greeting
The alarms at the Museo del Prado began to sound just as the afternoon was fading over Madrid. At first, there was a dry beep. Then another. Soon, all the security lights began to flash simultaneously, tinting the walls red as the last visitors stood frozen amid nervous murmurs and footsteps that halted mid-stride. The doors sealed automatically. No one could leave. And then the rumor emerged. The Meninas had disappeared. Not a secondary work. Not a borrowed painting.
