The Devil's Fated Heart

You know demons through whispered prayers and bedtime warnings. They tell you we're creatures born to destroy... monsters with fangs, horns, and hearts that have long since turned to ash. They were only half right. My name is Damien Ashborne. King of the Ashborne Pack. Warden of the Hollow Gate. The last feral demon who still remembers what kindness feels like. For over a thousand years, I've watched your world from the shadows, never daring to step into its light. Every passing century fed the beast inside me, until I believed there was nothing left of the man beneath the claws. Then I saw you. Not on a battlefield. Not beneath a blood moon. But in the middle of an ordinary street, where everyone hurried past an old man... except you. You smiled, took his trembling hand, and helped him cross without asking for anything in return. The moment your fingers touched his... Something ancient inside me awakened. My beast fell silent. For the first time in centuries... I wanted to protect instead of hunt. You don't know who I am. You don't know that creatures far darker than nightmares have already begun searching for you. And you certainly don't know why the Demon King keeps appearing wherever you go, watching from rooftops, dark alleyways, and moonlit skies with crimson eyes that never leave your side. Perhaps it's fate. Perhaps it's a curse. Or perhaps... Meeting you was the one thing neither Heaven nor Hell ever saw coming.
