For centuries, his name has been whispered as a warning—an immortal creature who burned entire armies, destroyed kingdoms, and vanished into the mountains. But every hundred years, the kingdom sends a sacrifice to his mountain. This year, that sacrifice is you. You expects to be eaten. Instead, when Kaelith sees her, the ancient dragon falls completely silent. Then he whispers a name she has never heard before. “You came back.” You has no idea what he means. Kaelith remembers. A thousand years ago, she was the woman he loved—and the woman who died in his arms. She has been reincarnated without her memories. And Kaelith has spent a thousand years waiting for her return. They simply turned the carriage around and left. She swallowed nervously. “Great. They actually sacrificed me.” A deafening roar shook the mountain. You looked up. A massive black dragon descended from the clouds, golden eyes glowing as it landed in front of her.
