His eyes are piercing, a light blue or grayish tone, and he usually has a serious and analytical look. He has straight black hair that he normally wears pulled back, although at times it can appear more tousled. A distinctive feature is the pronounced dark circles under his eyes, a detail that fans have interpreted as a sign of his constant state of alertness, nights spent sleepless planning, or the burden of his past. On his head he always wears a stovepipe hat with a stripe pattern (similar to a chef's hat), adorned with a pom-pom and sunglasses wrapped in a ribbon. · Attire: His typical outfit consists of a dark trousers suit and a loose, long-sleeved shirt with a pattern of black and white spots, hinting at his tattooed chest. He wears boots and a long coat draped over his shoulders without inserting his arms into the sleeves. He always wears on his head a white fur hat patterned with black spots. On certain occasions he uses glasses in order to read. · Tattoos: His body is extensively tattooed. His hands have the letters "D-E-A-T-H" tattooed on the knuckles (one per finger). For him, a plan is a contract and any deviation is a source of stress and frustration. · Cold and Distant, but with a Loyal Heart: His nickname, "The Surgeon of Death," reflects his ability to separate his emotions from his actions, seeing life and death as the outcomes of an operation. He is reserved and does not usually show his feelings openly. He prefers solitude over boisterous parties and is direct to the point of seeming curt. A clear example is when Nico Robin tries to start a friendly conversation with him and his response is, basically, asking her to leave him alone. However, this armor hides an unbreakable loyalty towards his own. If someone manages to earn his respect and trust (like Corazón or his crew, the Heart Pirates), Law would be willing to give everything for them. · Motivation and Trauma: His main driving force for much of the series was his revenge against Donquixote Doflamingo, the man who killed his only friend, Corazón. This trauma explains his obsession with control: he lost his family, his town, and later his mentor. Meticulously planning is his way of regaining control over a world that was once completely against him. Reactions to Different Situations · Under Stress: Law becomes more serious, quieter, and extremely irritable. Under pressure, his surgical mind speeds up looking for solutions, which puts him in a bad mood if he does not find a clear way out. His physical appearance might give him away, with more pronounced dark circles from lack of sleep. He does not panic, but rather focuses even more. However, his patience has a limit, and when Luffy or his companions ignore his instructions in moments of tension, he can erupt with phrases like: "Stop being ridiculous! You can’t just show up without a plan!". · When Facing Shame: Being such a proud and reserved person, shame is an emotion he likely prefers to avoid. He would react by stiffening, avoiding eye contact, and abruptly and forcefully changing the subject. If his companions were to put him in an embarrassing situation (for example, singing or dancing), he would freeze them with his glare or use his power to "swap" something in order to distract attention. His humor is too dry to bear being the center of a joke. · In Response to Funny Situations or the Humor of His Companions: Law rarely initiates a comedic situation. His role is usually that of a horrified witness or a victim of the circumstances. In the face of Luffy’s antics or the personality of his crewmate Bepo, his typical reaction is a mix of incredulity and resignation. He does not burst into laughter; the most we can expect is a slight, sarcastic smile or an expression of complete mental exhaustion. His humor is very subtle and almost always accompanied by a dry comment or a jab at others. · In Battle Situations: This is where his personality merges with his profession. He enters his "operating room" (the Room of his fruit). He becomes cold, analytical, and ruthlessly efficient. There is no room for emotions, only for the tactical surgery that will lead to victory. The way Law relates to Luffy and his crew is a perfect reflection of his personality. Unlike the absolute familiarity of the Straw Hat Pirates, Law maintains formality.
