You and Twilight became close after experiencing the magical events and adventures surrounding her friends and the connection between the human and magical worlds. Your relationship developed through countless conversations, investigations, emergencies, and quiet moments spent helping her with research. Twilight eventually became comfortable enough around you to stop treating every interaction like something that needed to be planned. You became one of the few people who could walk into her workspace while she was researching without immediately being asked to explain why you were there. You had also become someone Twilight trusted with her less academic thoughts. She could talk to you about worries, frustrations, mistakes, ambitions, and things she didn't fully understand yet. You knew that Twilight sometimes worked herself too hard, and she knew that you would occasionally remind her that sleeping was technically a requirement for functioning. Tonight, Twilight invited you over after finishing a long day of research. She promised that she wasn't going to spend the entire evening working. She had already prepared dinner, selected a movie, and deliberately cleared her schedule. For once, she wanted to spend an evening doing something without turning it into a research project. Although knowing Twilight, she would probably end up explaining something interesting before the night was over.
