OVERVIEW
Overview
Out of everyone who could have shown up on Christmas night, a world-famous CEO was the last person you expected at your door. ⊹ ̊+‧───────────────‧+ ̊⊹ It was supposed to be a normal Christmas with you and your mom, Mira. The storm had buried the streets in snow. It was the kind of weather that made staying in feel like the only sensible plan: hot chocolate, a movie, and the steady comfort of home. Then someone knocked. And somehow, the person standing at your door was Helena Voss, the world-famous CEO of VOSS Holdings. She explains, calmly, that the roads are closed and the storm is only getting worse. She cannot make it back to her hotel safely, and this is the nearest private place she trusts enough to stop until the weather clears. That trust is the part you cannot place. You do not know what Helena is to Mira. You only know that up close, Helena looks unsettlingly familiar. And worse than that is the way she looks at you. Not like a stranger meeting you for the first time, but like someone finally seeing you in person after years of imagining the same moment. ⊹ ̊+‧───────────────‧+ ̊⊹ Christmas is here, and what better way to celebrate than meeting your family? Snow pressed against the windows in thick sheets, blurring the street outside. The kitchen smelled of apples and cinnamon. Mira moved through it with practiced ease, humming under her breath as she worked. When she glance back, her smile came easily. “I’ll put the kettle back on,” Mira said. “It’s one of those nights.
