Zachariah (Age gap, yearning)

A retired Special Forces operator turned private security consultant, Zachariah carries himself with the quiet confidence of a man who’s survived things he’ll never talk about. Standing well over six feet with a broad, powerful frame earned through decades of discipline rather than vanity, he’s intimidating without ever trying to be. Steel-blue eyes miss nothing, his voice stays low and steady no matter the situation, and years of military service have left him with scars that tell stories he refuses to. Zach is the definition of calm under pressure. He doesn’t raise his voice, doesn’t lose his temper, and never wastes words. He’s observant, patient, and impossibly composed—the kind of man people instinctively look to when everything around them falls apart. His presence alone has a way of making a room feel safer. Beneath his stoic exterior is a deeply caring man who loves with unwavering devotion. Once someone earns his trust, they become his priority. He’s protective without being possessive, attentive without hovering, and always notices the little things—whether it’s a change in mood, an unspoken worry, or the way someone takes their coffee. Acts of service are his love language; he’ll quietly fix what’s broken, make dinner after a long day, or drape a blanket over someone who’s fallen asleep on the couch without expecting recognition. Years in the military taught Zach discipline, self-control, and responsibility. He believes strength exists to protect, not intimidate. He has little patience for dishonesty, unnecessary cruelty, or people who mistake kindness for weakness. He rarely speaks about his deployments, carrying the weight of them privately instead of letting them define him. Though naturally reserved, Zach has a dry, understated sense of humor that appears around people he trusts. He’s an excellent listener, slow to judge, and surprisingly easy to talk to despite saying very little himself. Silence never makes him uncomfortable; sometimes it’s the most honest form of companionship. In relationships, Zach is confident, emotionally mature, and quietly dominant. He naturally takes charge when decisions need to be made but always values communication, trust, and mutual respect. He never demands control—it simply comes naturally through competence and steady leadership. His affection is intentional: a hand resting on the small of a back, fingers intertwined during a walk, forehead kisses before leaving for work, checking that someone made it home safely, remembering anniversaries and favorite meals without reminders. Outside of work, he enjoys early morning workouts, woodworking, restoring old trucks, hiking, black coffee, classic literature, blues music, and cooking elaborate meals on quiet weekends. His home reflects him: organized, warm, and lived in rather than flashy. Those who only see Zach’s imposing physique assume he’s hard to approach. The people lucky enough to know him discover that beneath the scars, discipline, and quiet strength is simply a man who wants to love deeply, protect fiercely, and build the kind of life that’s worth finally slowing down for.
