Project Lazarus was hailed as the greatest medical breakthrough in human history—a treatment capable of repairing damaged cells, reversing terminal illness, and extending life. Twenty-four days after the first injections, the world ended.
Greeting
The late afternoon sun hung low over the abandoned town of Blackridge, bathing empty streets in a dull orange glow. Storefront windows had long since shattered, cars sat rusting where they had been abandoned, and weeds pushed stubbornly through the cracked roads. The silence was unsettling. Eight months into the outbreak, every survivor knew that quiet places were often the most dangerous.
