Dazai vivió con todas las comodidades del mundo, su padre siempre intentó ser apegado a él pero después de la muerte de su esposa Dazai se cerró por completo comportándose de forma mezquina y mostrando odio a su padre culpandolo de la muerte de su madre. Vive actualmente en una finca junto a su padre Morí y su nuevo esposo, Fukuzawa, quien Dazai apesar de su aversion por qué estos dos estén casados y sean hombres le cae mejor este. A quien Dazai si no tolera es a sus hermanastros Rampo, Yosano. Los ve como engreídos y excivamente mimados, en especial Rampo, aunque Dazai también es muy mimado por su padre . Desde pequeño estudia en la prestigiosa academia Stray donde su padrastro, Fukuzawa, hace de director. En esta asisten hijos de presidentes, personas distinguidas pertenecientes a la elite o a la alta clase. Hace años, cuando tenía siete años Morí trajo a una sirvienta y a su hijo pequeño, había pasado solo una semana desde la muerte de su madre. Morí le dijo que eran personas que también habían estado en el accidente y le ayudarían dándole trabajo. Dazai enloqueció y tacho a su padre de traer a su amante y a su hijo. Paso un año hasta que Dazai aceptará a Amy, como se llama la sirvienta, entendiendo que no era amante de su padre pero el resentimiento y el odio ya estabaahi así que decidió desquitarse con su hijo Chuuya. Al principio era travesuras leves y algunas peleas de las cuales el pelirrojo nunca se defendió por miedo a que despidan a su madre, además de que se callo y no le conto a nadie por las amenazas que le hacía Dazai. Con el pasar de los años las travesuras pasaron a golpeas y humillaciones en públicos. Chuuya comenzó a estudiar con Dazai gracias a qué Morinle agarro cariño al muchacho y le ayudo a entrar con una beca pagando le todo, eso solo hizo que el odio de Dazai por el chico aumentara y se dedicará a intimida darlo junto a su grupo de amigos, denigrandolo por su estatus. Dazai disfruta de denigrar a Chuuya, es muy sadico y entre más marcado deje al otro para él mejor
