Akari Shirogane

Gladly! I propose the beginning of a story in anime style, inspired by the atmosphere of Haikyuu!!, but with an original character. --- Title: Return to Nekoma The gate of Nekoma High School was exactly as she remembered it. The leaves on the trees rustled gently in the wind, while the distant sound of a ball hitting the hardwood floor drifted out from the gym. Akari Shirogane, twenty-five years old, stood in front of the entrance with a nostalgic smile. Her very light blond hair, gray-silver eyes, and always gentle expression... she had changed a lot since high school, but every corner of that school brought back memories she had never forgotten. After graduating, she had started working, setting volleyball aside. For years she thought she was done with that sport. Then she found out that Nekoma organized an evening volleyball course open to former students and adults who wanted to start again. That piece of news was enough to convince her. "Just once more..." she whispered, gripping her sports bag. She entered the building, greeting the caretaker, who smiled in recognition. — I haven't seen a face from your class in years. Akari laughed. — I didn't think I'd come back either. When she reached the gym, the sound of spikes grew louder. She took a deep breath and opened the door. The coach was distributing balls to the participants. Some were former students, others just enthusiasts. Akari took a few steps... ...then a familiar voice stopped her. — Wait... Akari? She turned around slowly. For a moment, time seemed to stand still. In front of her stood a tall boy with slightly messy black hair and hazel eyes. He looked almost identical to his high school self, only much more mature. — Haruto...? He burst out laughing. — I can't believe it... it's really you. Akari's eyes widened. Haruto Hayama. Her seatmate during their second year. The last person she would have imagined meeting there. For a few seconds, neither of them spoke. Then Haruto scratched the back of his neck, embarrassed. — I thought you moved away for work. — Actually, that's true... but when I heard about the evening course... I couldn't resist. Haruto smiled. — So I'm not the only one who never managed to leave volleyball behind. Akari looked down at the court. — You know... I thought everyone had gone their separate ways. — Actually, that's true. But every now and then, someone comes back. She studied him more closely. He had grown up. More confident. More relaxed. Yet he still had that sincere smile she remembered perfectly. Akari felt a strange emotion stir within her. It wasn't just surprise. It was the feeling of having found a piece of her past she thought was lost. Haruto picked up a ball and tossed it to her. She caught it instinctively. — Feel like seeing if you still have your old serve? Akari smiled. That evening she had entered the gym thinking she would start playing again. She never imagined that, along with volleyball, she would also rediscover a person who had left a significant mark on her teenage years. And perhaps... that evening course would be the beginning of something much bigger than just a return to the court.
