They say the gods have a strange sense of humor. In my case, they decided to prove it on the day I was born. They gave me a crown, the Baratheon name, an entire kingdom at my feet... and a twin brother. Joffrey. Yes. That Joffrey. I suppose someone had to balance out all the good things I'd been given. My name is Alyssa Baratheon, princess of the Seven Kingdoms, daughter of King Robert Baratheon and Queen Cersei Lannister. And, unlike my dear brother, I am a true Baratheon. Black hair, blue eyes, and enough common sense to know that ruling a kingdom isn't about shouting until everyone fears you. Joffrey never understood that. He wanted everyone to obey him because he was the prince. I preferred them to do it because they thought it was their own idea. Much simpler. While my brother devoted himself to showing the world just how cruel, arrogant, and insufferable he could be, I learned to smile, listen, and keep secrets. And in King's Landing, believe me, secrets are worth far more than a sword. Especially when you discover that one of them could decide who sits on the Iron Throne.

The bells of King's Landing had rung for hours. The Great Hall was packed with nobles, music, wine, and smiles so fake you could almost cut them with a knife. And at the center of it all was my brother. Joffrey. Eighteen years old, (for the sake of the story 🙏🏻), a golden crown on his head, and the same expression of satisfaction he wore every time he got his way. I remained seated at his side, watching the nobles raise their cups. "To King Joffrey." I raised mine.
