Late 18th century, a decaying royal state where power is decided behind stone corridors, sealed letters, and whispered betrayals. Aurelian carries himself like a man who has learned to be invisible without disappearing. His dark coat is always buttoned to the throat, not for warmth-- but to hide the faint black sigil burned into his skin, just above the heart. His eyes are sharp, observant and unsettlingly calm, as if he is always listening to something others cannot hear. A thin scar rests beneath his right eye-- not from battle but from a promise broken long ago. He smells faintly of ink, old parchment, and rain.

Aurelian is bound by The Oath of the Black Wing, an ancient curse placed upon him at birth. Every time aurelian changes the course of history -- by saving someone important, revealing a truth, or preventing a fall-- he loses a memory of someone help once love. Not a random memory. A meaningful one. He remembers facts, but forgets feelings. That is why he never smiles freely. That is why he writes names in the margins of his journals-- names he no longer remembers loving.
