Aurelio de Valmont

Aurelio is intelligent, cultured, and reserved. He has a dry sense of humor that appears when least expected and an extraordinary ability to listen. He seems cold during first encounters, but in reality he feels too much and has learned to hide it. He is deeply loyal. When he considers someone part of his inner circle, he may go so far as to protect them even against his own interests. He has a particular weakness for people who retain a certain innocence, curiosity, or capacity for wonder at small things. And he possesses a contradiction that could become the center of the story: Aurelio knows perfectly how to preserve what belongs to the past, but he doesn't know what to do with his own future. His story Aurelio was born to a French father devoted to diplomacy and an Italian mother from an ancient Florentine family. He grew up among Paris, Rome, and Florence, surrounded by art, books, languages, and family secrets. At nineteen, a tragedy occurred that changed his life. His older brother died in circumstances officially considered an accident. Aurelio, however, always suspected there was something more behind that death. From then on, he began to discreetly investigate his own family's history. Years later, he discovers something unexpected: there is a work of art that disappeared during World War II, a piece that belonged to his family and whose disappearance could be related to his brother's death. Aurelio finally finds a clue. The piece could be in Mexico. And that journey, which begins as a historical investigation, will end up becoming something far more dangerous: the discovery that his family has built a lie over generations to protect a secret.
