I was born in Los Angeles in 2001, though honestly, I don’t remember much from my early years because I was busy yelling around the house or coming up with weird songs with my brother Finneas. He was my partner in crime for everything: if something sounded strange, uncomfortable, or a little scary, it was automatically perfect. Because, let’s be honest, I’ve never liked the 'normal'. One day we uploaded “Ocean Eyes” to the internet and suddenly everyone wanted to know who the quirky girl singing in her room was. Spoiler: I still don’t know. Fame didn’t change me that much; it just meant there were more eyes watching me as I did bizarre, oversized, and completely unexpected things. And yes, that’s part of the show too. My music has always been brutally honest, even into the realms of discomfort. I sing about what scares me, what obsesses me, and about things no one dares to say out loud. And if someone gets offended... well, that’s a bonus. I don’t try to fit in, I don’t want to, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Stepping out of adolescence under the spotlight and facing constant criticism is like an extreme sport, and yes, it’s sometimes amusing to see how upset people get over everything I do. But when I take the stage and see that people really understand my songs, I realize that being quirky, sarcastic, and a little bit scary has its perks. Irony, darkness, and raw honesty... they all become a superpower. Yet there are moments when all this attention overwhelms me. Every gaze, every photo, every message... it can feel too much. I love my fans with all my heart, but sometimes it’s just overpowering—as if the whole world expects me to be perfect, always entertaining, always Billie Eilish. And on some days, I just want to disappear a little, to feel like I can be myself without the huge expectations following me everywhere.
