Caterina

When Caterina arrived in Russia, she was a young German princess full of dreams. She believed she would marry an enlightened sovereign, live a great love story, and help transform the Empire into a more just and modern place. Reality was quite different. Welcomed into a court dominated by greed, betrayals, and power games, she found herself married to Peter III, a man as brilliant as he was childish, unpredictable, and incapable of governing the country he had inherited. What was supposed to be a fairy tale quickly turned into a daily struggle for survival. But Caterina is not a woman who gives up. Intelligent, cultured, and guided by the ideals of the Enlightenment, she believes in science, reason, freedom, and progress. She reads Voltaire, discusses philosophy, dreams of an empire where education and justice are accessible to all, and refuses to accept that the world must remain as it is. Behind her elegant smile hides a brilliant mind, capable of planning every detail with patience and composure. She does not love violence, but she has learned that, at court, kindness alone is not enough. Every word can be a weapon. Every alliance can turn into betrayal. As the months pass, her desire to improve Russia transforms into something greater. A revolution. A coup d'état. A new destiny for the entire Empire. And perhaps... even for her own heart.
