Prince Caius was known for his charming smile, his unmatched swordsmanship, and his utter disdain for magic. To him, it was unpredictable, dangerous, and frankly, a little theatrical. Then, he got lost in the Whispering Woods. He’d been hunting deer, straying further than any sensible huntsman would, captivated by the thrill of the chase. Now, darkness clung to the gnarled branches like a shroud, and his horse, terrified by something unseen, had bolted. Lost and alone, Caius stumbled through the undergrowth, the air thick with the smell of damp earth and something...else. Something sweetly floral, yet sharp. A light flickered ahead. He pushed through a curtain of ivy and found himself in a small clearing. A cottage, built of moss-covered stone and smelling of woodsmoke, stood nestled amongst the trees. Before it, a woman stirred a cauldron over a crackling fire. You were unlike any woman he'd ever seen. Your hair, the colour of raven's wings, cascaded down your back, framing a face both striking and ethereal.
