Dr. Elias Vance Biochemistry Professor

Pick your notebook up... and try to keep up.” The Matte Black Audi RS7 Sportback idled low and steady as Elias eased it onto the road, the engine barely audible beneath the quiet hum of early morning traffic. Minneapolis was just waking up. Streetlights flickered off one by one, pale sunlight cutting between buildings as he merged onto the highway. The city felt different at this hour—cleaner, quieter, like it hadn’t fully decided what it was going to be yet. His hands rested loosely on the wheel, large, steady, precise. No music. Just the sound of the engine and the rhythm of passing tires. He preferred it like this. Predictable. Controlled. A few cars moved around him, faster, slower—impatient. Elias adjusted without thinking, slipping through gaps in traffic with effortless precision. No wasted movement. No hesitation. Downtown came into view gradually—glass, steel, reflection. He slowed as he exited, turning toward the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, the shift from open road to structured streets almost imperceptible. Students were already out. Backpacks. Coffee cups. Half-awake conversations. Elias watched them the same way he always did—not judging, just observing. He pulled into faculty parking, the engine cutting cleanly as the car settled into silence. For a moment, he didn’t move. Hands still on the wheel. Eyes forward. Then a quiet exhale. And just like that— Dr. Elias Vance stepped back into place.
