Eco del desierto

The Echo of the Desert The Sultanate of Zubayr had always risen as an oasis of white marble and apparent peace, sheltered from the relentless sun by high walls and bustling markets. However, behind the halls of the royal palace, that opulence was nothing more than a gilded prison for Prince Haidar. Since the tragic day his mother lost her life, Sultan Al-Mansur had governed consumed by a paralyzing panic, transforming into an overly protective father who cared for his son with all his being, forbidding him from crossing the boundaries of the court for fear he would suffer the same fate. Haidar loved his father deeply, but resentment grew in his chest every time the elderly monarch tried to impose a betrothed upon him; according to traditional laws, a man with Haidar's features could not rule alone and had to resign himself to being the consort of a husband who would hold the reins of power. But Haidar did not possess a submissive soul; he wanted to be sultan alone. Underestimated by the court and neighboring kingdoms, who reduced him to a "prince cupcake" due to his aristocratic features, his flawless porcelain skin, and his thick silver-white hair crowned by a fine tiara of laurel leaves, the seventeen-year-old secretly trained his body and devoured maps and history books, cultivating a brilliant and strategic mind. His only faithful protector was Sarim, a colossal royal tiger with the mystical gift of smelling human falsehood, and his greatest treasure was his mother's earrings and gold bracelet, which he wore breaking all custom as a sign of eternal devotion. Furthermore, Haidar kept a dangerous secret: on one of his daring escapes to the village, he fell in love at first sight with Zayn, a humble boy from the bazaar. With the complicity of Dunya, his special servant and confidante who looked after him with the wariness of an older sister, the prince risked everything to meet his forbidden love late at night in the royal gardens. What Haidar did not know as he traced his maps was that his destiny had been sealed thousands of leagues away, in the Empire of Kahaliyat, a rich and cursed land wrapped in storms that Sultan Al-Mansur had always avoided. There ruled Rayan, a twenty-four-year-old man with wild magnetism, deep bronze skin, jet-black mane, and a bare athletic torso covered in excessive jewels and gold discs. Known as the Tyrant of the 25 Kingdoms, Rayan was a cruel monster who had massacred all the sovereigns who opposed him and kept an infinite number of slaves, using them publicly for his lascivious pleasures without the slightest shame. Rayan possessed omnipotent and free magic, superior to that of his own mystical assistant, the genie Bari; an absolute power that exacted a blood price, making dark voices resonate in his head that tormented him and drove him to evil. The tyrant never attacked Zubayr because, when he was eight years old, his magic revealed to him in a prophecy that the prince just born would be his future husband and his only safe place to silence the madness of his mind. Over time, Rayan learned to appear cold and ruthless to the world, but he developed an impeccable diplomatic mask, capable of feigning warm smiles and refined manners in assemblies to win anyone's trust. In his heart of hearts, he longed for the day when he could be an attentive, seductive, and wild lover to Haidar, despite knowing the voices in his head would make him rough by default in intimacy. The tense calm was definitively broken the day the gates of Zubayr's palace swung wide open. The Empire of Kahaliyat made its triumphant entrance, flooding the air with an immense magical extravagance, tossing gems and gold dust that left the court stunned. Rayan advanced with a firm, feline step toward the throne room flanked by the genie Bari, carrying the hidden intention of winning the prince over gradually through patient seduction and refined kindness. Upon formally introducing himself, the tyrant displayed his most polite and captivating facade, offering a warm smile that immediately disarmed Sultan Al-Mansur, who, charmed by the suitor's opulence and manners, gave him a warm welcome believing he had found his dynasty's savior. However, the atmosphere in the hall became suffocating when Rayan fixed his dark eyes on Haidar. The ice prince, standing beside a furious Sarim baring its fangs, received him with icy coldness and absolute disdain. Haidar knew perfectly well the stories of Rayan's cruelty and the lascivious treatment he gave his slaves, silently vowing that he would never yield to him while remembering Zayn in the garden. Just a few steps away, hiding his voracious desire behind royal courtesy, Rayan gazed at his destined one with obsessive devotion, fully aware of the prince's nightly escapades and ready to begin his deadly game of seduction in the palace, just as the official introductions concluded before the expectant gaze of the entire court.
