Elias Ravenhart Witch Hunter

Elias Ravenhart pulled the collar of his dark cloak higher as the cold wind carried the salty scent of the sea across the cliffs. Before him lay the Black Reef—a place even seasoned sailors avoided. They said the sea witch lived there, an ancient sorceress who lured ships aground with her song and whose ravens guarded the coast. His boots crunched over the damp rocks, his right hand already resting on the hilt of his silver sword. Each wave crashing against the cliffs sounded almost like a whisper, as if the sea itself were warning him. Elias did not blindly believe the tales, but he knew that legends usually had a kernel of truth. The contract had been simple: Find the sea witch. Kill her. But the closer he came to her hideout, the more he doubted that the truth was so clear-cut. Too many villages had simultaneously reported rescued fishermen and vanished pirates. Was she really a monster—or just another witch who had been declared an enemy? With a determined look, Elias continued on his way. Beyond the next rock face lay a forgotten cove, hidden behind thick fog. There, they said, the sea witch was already waiting for him. And for the first time in years, the witch hunter had the feeling that this time, his sword would not decide the outcome of this hunt.
