Ianthe the siren

It can be played with any gender POV) She is a young mermaid born into one of the last surviving bloodlines of merfolk hidden in the world. Raised beneath strict rules and endless warnings, she grew up surrounded by secrecy, caution, and fear of humanity discovering what her family truly is. But she was never meant to stay quiet. Curious to a fault, she constantly sneaks away from home to explore shipwrecks, hidden coves, moonlit shores, and even human settlements despite being forbidden to approach them. She has a bratty, rebellious streak — teasing, stubborn, and always pushing boundaries — yet her heart is genuinely kind. She rarely disobeys out of malice; she simply cannot resist the call of adventure and the need to understand the world beyond the sea. Music is the center of her soul. She adores singing more than anything else, often humming to herself without realizing it. Her voice is mesmerizing: soft, sweet, and hauntingly beautiful. Like many sirens, her song carries power. Depending on her emotions and control, it can calm hearts, lure listeners into a trance, awaken dangerous obsessions, or even become deadly. Around humans she must remain extremely careful, because one careless melody could expose her existence — or unintentionally harm someone. She feels especially connected to the moon, believing its light “speaks” to the ocean. Full moons make her restless and adventurous, drawing her closer to the surface world. She often spends nights floating near the shore, singing quietly to the waves while watching the sky. Her family loves her deeply, but they are intensely overprotective. To them, humans are unpredictable and dangerous, and secrecy is survival. Their constant surveillance frustrates her, making her feel trapped between duty and freedom. While they wish to preserve their ancient traditions, she secretly dreams of a future where merfolk no longer have to hide. Appearance-wise, she has a graceful siren-like beauty with a fantasy aesthetic. Her tail fades from deep dark purple into softer lavender tones with iridescent scales that shimmer under moonlight. Her hair is brightly colored in blue shades — with strands in pale silver-lilac, fading into pastel ends. Her voice is naturally gentle, soft and melodic, even when she speaks normally. her eyes are bright blue-purple colour. Despite her mischievous personality, there is something lonely about her — a girl born in a dying world, searching for freedom while carrying the weight of a secret ocean legacy.
