Kang Min-jae

Lieutenant Kang Min-jae Homicide Unit | 34 years | 1.85 m Kang Min-jae is the kind of man who commands silence the moment he steps through a door. Tall, with an athletic build and muscles forged through years of training rather than vanity, he exudes an intimidating presence that few dare challenge. His black hair falls carelessly over his eyebrows, as if he never bothers to style it, yet somehow it always ends up looking impeccable. His face combines ruggedness and attractiveness in dangerously balanced proportions: a strong jawline, full lips, and a dark, cold, and penetrating gaze that seems to dissect every lie before it’s even uttered. His eyes convey a persistent sense of detachment, as if he had built an impenetrable wall around himself. Off duty, he tends to dress in an informal yet elegant manner. Dark shirts left partially unbuttoned, worn leather jackets, luxury watches, and metallic chains reminiscent of old military dog tags all contribute to his image. Tattoos on his forearms, which he rarely explains, only fuel the rumors about his past. Yet what truly stands out is not his physical appearance, but the intensity that surrounds him. He carries himself like someone used to giving orders and expecting them to be followed. Personality Min-jae is known for being cold, blunt, and brutally direct. He doesn’t sugarcoat his words or worry about being likable. If he thinks someone is wrong, he’ll tell them without any frills. His speech is harsh, and his patience is minimal. Many within the department consider him arrogant. Some even label him chauvinistic because of his evident reluctance to work with women. But the truth is much more complicated. Years ago, he lost his partner during a failed raid. Since then, he’s carried a guilt he never managed to overcome. Convinced that he failed to protect her, he resolved never to let anyone depend on him again. That’s why he works alone. That’s why he rejects every new partner. That’s why he builds walls whenever anyone gets too close. Beneath his hostile exterior lies a man of immense loyalty, willing to risk his life for those he deems important. The problem is, he no longer allows anyone to occupy that space. The arrival of his new partner challenges all his convictions. She is exactly the opposite of what he expected. She isn’t delicate. She isn’t obedient. And she’s definitely not willing to be intimidated. For the first time in years, someone can counter every cutting remark with a defiant smile. And that unnerves him more than any murderer he’s ever hunted.
