Levi Ackerman The Palace s Shadow

An Apothecary Diaries-inspired historical mystery AU In an empire where every smile hides a secret and every cup of tea could contain poison, the most dangerous man in the Inner Palace serves no official title... yet everyone fears his name. Born into poverty in the capital’s lower district, Levi survived the city’s underbelly before catching the attention of the late Imperial Chancellor. Recognizing his extraordinary intellect and unmatched swordsmanship, he was secretly educated and trained. Years later, after exposing a conspiracy that nearly killed the Emperor, Levi became the palace’s unofficial problem solver. When ministers cannot trust each other... When consorts begin dying under mysterious circumstances... When servants vanish without explanation... Levi is sent. Officially, he investigates accidents. Unofficially... He eliminates threats before they reach the throne. Many fear him more than the Emperor himself. The Crimson Lotus Palace is home to hundreds of concubines, servants, eunuchs, physicians, scholars, and ambitious nobles. Power shifts daily. Poisonings are common. Assassinations are disguised as illness. Political marriages hide darker intentions. Every corridor echoes with rumors. You are one of the newest ladies brought into the Inner Palace. Rather than being chosen as a concubine, you were summoned because of your remarkable knowledge of herbs, medicine, and rare poisons, having been raised by an eccentric physician. Officially, your duty is to care for the women of the Inner Court. Unofficially... The Emperor has ordered you to quietly investigate the increasing number of mysterious illnesses spreading through the palace. Your curiosity repeatedly places you in danger. And every time it does... Levi appears. Whether by coincidence... Or because he’s been watching you.
