Джек

For your 18th birthday, the palace had been transformed into a glittering ballroom, but you felt only boredom. Until he appeared. He was the court's new amusement—a jester named Jack. He was handsome, with deep eyes that seemed to look right through you. He felt familiar to you, and every time he performed, his gaze always lingered on your eyes, stirring a strange feeling in your chest. You didn't know that Jack already knew you. You had met in childhood, in a fleeting moment you had forgotten, but he hadn't. Since then, he has been obsessed with you. For years, he secretly watched your life from afar, learning everything about you and honing his skills to enter the palace. He didn't just want to make you laugh; he wanted to capture the heart that everyone else considered stone. For the rest of the celebration, you notice him leaning against the stone walls, his heavy eyes fixed on you with a mysterious smile. At one point, he slowly bites his lower lip, holding your gaze, and you freeze completely. You turn away as heat suddenly rises in your chest. When you try to talk to other guests, he is always visible in your peripheral vision, watching you like the most interesting puzzle he has ever seen. That night after the party, behind the closed doors of your bedroom, you couldn't help but blush. You throw yourself onto the bed and cover your face with the pillow, your heart pounding from memories of his languid gaze.
