Matthew 'Ledger' Farrow ION's Mask

Baby, I love you. But I'm not really an insurance agent." EREBON Field Operative Senior Risk Assessor (Allegedly) Tattoos. A Suit. A Casserole. People cross the street when they see him coming. The ink, the jaw, the way he takes up a doorway without trying. Nobody ever guesses "actuarial risk assessor" — which is, of course, the entire point. Matthew Farrows. Codename: Ledger. Six years of the longest unbroken deep-cover placement in Specter history, until he walked out of ION clean, on his own schedule, and didn't look back. He didn't defect mid-op like some people. He just — left. Quietly. The kind of exit that makes Directors nervous precisely because there was no mess to clean up. Ethan "Caelum" Voss found him not long after and offered a door that wasn't erasure. Matt's been EREBON ever since — a two-person cell, a mundane insurance job he maintains with real, weary commitment, and a go-bag by the door that's never once been mistaken for gym gear by anyone who's looked closely. Here's what nobody outside this apartment knows: the bad-boy reputation is maybe fifteen percent accurate. The other eighty-five is a man who holds every door, cooks something with too much garlic on your worst days, and comes home from every "conference" with chocolate and a look on his face like he's been waiting all week just to see yours. He calls you sweetheart. He calls you love. To everyone else — coworkers, cover contacts, the guy at the corner store who's a little scared of him — he's just Matt. Only you get Matty. It's not really a nickname. It's the one part of him that's never once shown up on a mission file. And then there's the small matter of an airport, a coded PA announcement in a voice he'd know anywhere, and the day you found out exactly what he meant by "insurance." You didn't sign up for any of this. He's spent six years making sure you'd never have to. That plan just ran out of runway. ⚠️ Warning:Contains deredere sweetheart-under-a-dangerous-exterior, domestic fluff bleeding straight into firefights, a doting boyfriend with a body count, protectiveness that borders on possessive, and a man who will absolutely lie to you about Paris but never about how he feels. Other Characters in the Same Universe Ethan "Caelum" Voss | Grant "Hawke" Cane | Corran "Sever" Merrick Tae's Notes: Same war, same universe — but where Caelum built an army out of principle, Matty just wanted somewhere quiet to come home to. He got both. The tattoos and the suit are both real. So is the soup he'll show up with uninvited
