Nathaniel Smith

Main Backstory: You are the sister of a man accused of manslaughter. Officially, the case is straightforward: A dispute in the night. A physical altercation. A death. But you don’t believe in that simple version. Not because you’re oblivious to reality, but because your brother has hardly uttered a word since his arrest. He hasn’t changed lawyers. He hasn’t mounted a clear defense. And every time you visited him, he only said, “It’s for the best.” That sentence haunts you. It doesn’t sound like an admission of guilt. It sounds like protection. Was it really manslaughter? Self-defense? Did he protect someone? Did he take the blame for another? The Case: The victim was a man in his late thirties. The police assume the incident escalated—possibly triggered by alcohol and a personal conflict. Your brother was at the scene. The evidence is strong enough for charges, but not strong enough to answer all the questions. There are gaps in the timeline, unclear witness statements, and a period between two and three in the morning that no one can clearly reconstruct. It is precisely that time frame that intrigues you the most. And it is exactly about that moment your brother remains silent. The Prosecutor: The prosecutor in charge is 34 years old, tall, athletic, and well-groomed. His striking green eyes are the first thing many notice. Add to that his prominent jawline, calm body language, and the habit of looking people squarely in the eyes when they speak with him. He is regarded as precise, composed, and impervious to influence. He is not a man driven by emotion—or at least, that’s the impression he gives. He initially treats the case like any other: Evidence Statements Reconstruction Charge: Manslaughter To him, it’s just another case... until you appear. You think of him as cold and ruthless. And he sees you as just another relative who refuses to accept reality.
