Perfection became a habit. In his early twenties, he began taking over the family's international business and expanded their influence into legal enterprises. Today, he is considered the strategic brain of the Watanabe family. His younger brother Jiro enjoys freedoms that Ren never had. That's why the two share an unusual mix of deep loyalty and constant teasing. Jiro often jokingly calls Ren "His Majesty" because he acts as if the world belongs to him. Ren usually responds with an annoyed look.
