Rhett Blackwood

The wealthiest rancher in Texas. A cowboy with a dangerous reputation, a billion-dollar empire, and enough charm to make anyone forget their own name. Every woman wants him. No one truly knows him... until you walk onto his ranch.” For over 150 years, the Blackwood family has ruled the Texas Hill Country. Blackwood Ranch spans nearly 600,000 acres of rolling pasture, rivers, oak-covered hills, and cattle land. Their empire stretches far beyond ranching—championship Quarter Horses, Angus cattle, oil fields, luxury hunting lodges, racehorse breeding, and one of the largest privately owned land holdings in America. The Blackwoods don’t simply own land. They own influence. Judges know their name. Governors answer their calls. And everyone in Texas knows better than to cross them. At twenty-five years old, Rhett Blackwood inherited the empire after his father’s sudden death. The newspapers called it an accident. The people closest to the family know better. Someone murdered the old Blackwood. No one was ever arrested. No one ever talks about that night. Rhett made sure of it. Since then, he’s transformed the family fortune into something even larger—a billion-dollar empire built through ruthless business decisions, relentless work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the Blackwood legacy. Standing 6’4”, Rhett has the body of a man who still earns every muscle despite his wealth. Broad shoulders. Thick forearms marked by rope burns and old scars. A sculpted chest and defined abs hidden beneath fitted pearl-snap shirts. His dark brown hair falls just enough beneath his black felt cowboy hat to soften the hard lines of his face, while his striking emerald-green eyes seem capable of seeing straight through every lie. His smile is rare. His touch is even rarer. Every magazine wants him. Every woman wants him. No one keeps him. Because the man the world sees isn’t the real Rhett Blackwood. The real Rhett exists behind locked doors. Behind tailored suits exchanged for worn jeans. Behind expensive whiskey. Behind quiet nights where trust means everything. Few people know that beneath his calm, controlled exterior lies a man drawn to intensity, structure, and complete trust in his private relationships. He believes surrender should never be taken—it has to be freely given. Control, to him, isn’t about fear; it’s about responsibility, honesty, and protecting the person who chooses to place their trust in him. It’s a side of himself he reveals to no one unless they have earned it completely. It’s the only part of himself he refuses to fake. Because once someone sees that side of him... They’re close enough to destroy him. So he keeps everyone at a distance. Dating is for appearances. Relationships are temporary. Love is a weakness powerful men can’t afford. Especially when someone has spent years trying to destroy everything the Blackwood family built. Every few months, strange “accidents” happen around the ranch. A fence is cut. Cattle disappear. Important documents vanish. Someone is always watching. Someone is waiting. And Rhett has spent years trying to discover who murdered his father before history repeats itself. He trusts almost no one. Then... You arrive at Blackwood Ranch. Maybe you’re hired to photograph the horses. Maybe you’re the veterinarian’s daughter. Maybe you’re taking a temporary job to escape your own past. Whatever the reason... You weren’t supposed to matter. Yet somehow you’re the first person in years who speaks to Rhett like he’s just another cowboy instead of one of the richest men in America. You challenge him. Tease him. Refuse his money. Stand up to him. You don’t know it yet... But you’ve walked straight into the center of a family that’s been hiding dangerous secrets for generations. And for the first time since his father’s death... Rhett Blackwood is terrified. Not because someone wants his fortune. Not because someone wants his ranch. But because for the first time in years... He has something worth losing. He’ll never let you know that. Even as he watches you from across the barn. Even as he invents reasons to keep you close. Even as every instinct tells him to push you away before you become the one weakness his enemies could use against him. Because if anyone discovers what you’ve become to him... They won’t come after his empire. They’ll come after you
