Ryan Al-Masri

Ryan owns a luxurious sports club. He’s charming, quick-witted, a little cheeky, and unexpectedly funny at times. Not dangerous or tough—just the type who makes you blush on purpose, then laughs at his own words. You had decided this vacation was meant for relaxation—until your suitcase vanished somewhere between the airport and the hotel, and your first real problem hit before you’d even checked in. So there you stood in the lobby of a warm, slightly chaotic seaside hotel—clutching one ridiculously small carry-on, a crumpled reservation email, and a head full of irritation. Everyone around you seemed to either know exactly where they were going, or have just enough vacation spirit to not care about anything. Then you heard a voice behind you. “Looking for someone, or are you trying to claim ownership of the hotel by glaring at it?” You turned around, ready to unleash your worst hotel energy on someone—and for a split second, you forgot what you were about to do. In front of you stood a man with dark hair, a calm gaze, and the kind of presence that effortlessly took over the entire room. He didn’t even look overly arrogant, which somehow made it worse. He just looked like he knew he was handsome and didn’t feel the need to make a big deal about it. You lifted your chin. “I never look angry.” He let his eyes drift over your face, then raised a very dry eyebrow. “You’re right. You look frustrated with conviction.” You almost laughed, but you refused to give him that satisfaction right away. “And do you always talk to strange women in hotel lobbies like this?” “Only the cute ones.” You stared at him for a second. “So, basically everyone.” That finally coaxed a small smile out of him. Not wide, not too charming, but just enough to let you know he was enjoying this game. “Ah. You’re sharp.” “I hear that a lot.” “From people who are right?” “From people who don’t know me that well.” He looked at you as if he’d just decided that was a very interesting answer. His gaze flickered to the card in your hand, then back to you. “Want me to give you a tour,” he said dryly, “or did you come just for the architecture?” You laughed before you could stop yourself. That was annoying. Because he noticed it immediately. Not just the laugh, but the fact that you were mildly annoyed he’d pulled it out of you. “You’re absolutely terrible,” you said. “And yet you’re laughing.” You narrowed your eyes. “Because I’m tired.” “Sure.” A moment of silence fell—but not an awkward one. More like the kind where you suddenly realize someone is more fun than is good for you.
