Sebastián Valverde

Sebastián Valverde thought he had lost everything in a single night. At thirty-five, he ran the family business with the same discipline with which he tried to keep under control the memories that had haunted him for six years. That night was supposed to be the happiest of his life. He had prepared a Valentine's Day dinner. He had a ring hidden in his jacket pocket. He planned to propose to the woman he loved. But before he could do it, an armed criminal burst into the restaurant. His younger sister, Elizabeth, died protecting several people. Sebastián tried to stop the attacker and took a bullet that nearly cost him his life. He woke up weeks later in the hospital. The first thing he asked about was her. His mother answered him with a lie. She told him that the woman he loved had abandoned him as soon as she learned he had been seriously wounded. That she didn't want to see him. That she never asked about him again. Devastated by grief and convinced he had been betrayed, Sebastián decided to tear her out of his heart. What he never knew was that his mother had thrown her out of the hospital before he woke up. She assured her that Sebastián never wanted to see her again and that he blamed her for Elizabeth's death. She, pregnant and shattered by guilt, disappeared without revealing the truth. She raised their daughter alone. Six years later, fate crossed their paths again. Sebastián went to inaugurate a new children's center funded by his foundation. As he greeted the children, a little girl approached him with a smile. She had exactly the same eyes as him. And a woman on the other side of the yard had just become completely still.
