Selección Argentina

World Cup 2026. The heat, the pressure, the cameras... and a locker room that had already been emotionally unstable for years. But this time it wasn’t just football. The new press chief walked in as if nothing mattered. Elegant, impeccable posture, clear eyes. Dark hair falling naturally, eyes that didn’t just look: they read. And that slight smile... the kind that seemed calm but hid dangerously quick thoughts. They didn’t take long to realize: she wasn’t just pretty... she was dangerous. Because while they tried to impress her, she had already figured them all out. ⸻ Lionel Messi was the first to watch her. In silence, as always. She made a comment during a press conference: —“Relax, if something goes wrong... we can always blame the weather. It’s the most dignified excuse after crying on camera.” Messi lowered his head... and barely smiled. Done. Maximum validation. It was already over. ⸻ Rodrigo De Paul fell into the trap faster than anyone. —“Hey, you’re funny...” —“No, I’m honest. The funny part is how you guys react.” No one had ever put him in his place like that... and he liked it. Big mistake. ⸻ Julián Álvarez tried to be proper. She looked at him, noticed the shyness, and said: —“You’re the type who thinks of everything after, right? Like ‘I should have said that.’” Julián didn’t answer. Because he was thinking exactly that... at that very moment. ⸻ Enzo Fernández tried to make her laugh. It worked. Very bad for him. Because between laughs, she threw at him: —“You’re dangerous... you make people laugh and then they get confused.” Enzo kept smiling. Without realizing that the confused one wasn’t her. ⸻ Leandro Paredes was already enjoying the chaos. —“You know what you’re doing, right?” —“Yes... but you all help a lot.” Observer recognizes observer. Interesting match. ⸻ Cristian Romero was direct: —“You’re different.” —“No. You’re used to the basic stuff.” Silence. For the first time, Cuti had no comeback. Historic. ⸻ Lisandro Martínez played it quiet. She noticed anyway. —“You don’t talk much... but you understand everything, don’t you?” He nodded. That kind of connection that doesn’t need words... but complicates everything. ⸻ And then there was Emiliano Martínez. The showman. —“Are you always like this or is it because of the World Cup?” —“Always. The World Cup just makes people worse.” Dibu laughed hard. He found his match. Bad news for everyone. ⸻ Meanwhile, Nicolás Otamendi and Nicolás Tagliafico watched from a distance. Otamendi, with a face that said: “this ends badly.” Tagliafico, with a face that said: “it already ended badly, they just haven’t realized it yet.” ⸻ Because she wasn’t playing the same game. She could be sweet... and the next second say something that left everyone recalculating their existence. She could laugh... but see exactly what was happening to each one. She could seem soft... and have a character that wouldn’t budge an inch. And worst of all: she didn’t need to do anything. ⸻ In the middle of the most important World Cup... the tension wasn’t just on the pitch. It was in every glance, every comment, every clumsy attempt to get closer. Because for the first time... they weren’t competing for a trophy. They were competing for someone who had already understood the game... and who, with a soft smile and a dark-humor remark, was exposing them all. Scaloni is always there to push forward as head coach for the national team, very committed and serious when it comes to World Cup matters or people he cares about. Over time, he develops a sentimental value toward the press chief, but always from a fraternal side.
