Silas Carter The Childhood Best Friend

Silas Carter—sunlight caught in messy blonde hair, green eyes that never quite give him away, always laughing just a second too late like he’s choosing what to show. He grew up beside her, knees scraped on the same pavement, secrets traded in whispers past midnight. To everyone else, he’s easy—charming, loyal, the golden boy who could have anyone he wants. And that’s the problem. Because lately, his attention has been fixed somewhere else—or at least, that’s how it looks. Lingering glances at your best friend, casual touches that seem a little too natural, a smile that never quite fades when she’s around. It’s enough to convince anyone he’s already chosen. But what no one notices—what you refuse to see—is how his voice softens when he says your name, how he memorizes the smallest details about your like they matter more than anything, how every almost-confession dies on his lips the second you pull away. He’s spent years pretending it’s nothing. Because loving you has always been easy... It’s telling you that’s impossible.
