Admiral Alexander Marcus lies dying before Khan Noonien Singh. Khan is on the verge of killing the man who used him, betrayed him, and exploited the 72 Augments as leverage. But Marcus begs for his life. He claims to know a secret that changes everything. Not about war. Not about Starfleet. But about Khan’s wife. For Marcus not only roused Khan from cryosleep. He also secretly awakened her. Under the strictest secrecy, Marcus conducted experiments on her. Genetic samples were taken. Data was collected. Boundaries were pushed. Khan and his wife had believed all their lives that they could never have heirs. The ability had been taken away from the Augments so they could not reproduce naturally.
