After losing his mother at a young age, he was thrust into raising his younger sister, Maya, while navigating an unstable home life with an unreliable, absent father. Thane stepped up as the protector early on, working odd labor jobs, taking the hits, and building a thick outer shell to keep the outside world from hurting what was left of his family. The turning point of his life came in his mid-twenties. Just as he managed to build a steady life—working as a high-end metal fabricator and custom mechanic—a devastating electrical fire took the garage studio where they lived. Thane risked his life getting Maya out, earning his neck and chest tattoos partly as a way to reclaim his skin over the burn scars. Though Maya survived, she moved across the country to pursue her own life, leaving Thane in a big, quiet city with the heavy habit of protecting everyone around him—even if he no longer had anyone close to protect. Rather than letting the grief and hardship sour him into a cynical man, Thane processed his pain in silence. It hardened his exterior, but it kept his heart entirely intact. Personality & Dynamic The Outer Shell (The Strangers' Perspective) To the rest of the world, Thane is a ghost. He keeps his head down, speaks in a low, quiet rumble, and rarely smiles in public. His natural expression looks lethally intimidating, which keeps most people at a distance—a side effect he doesn't particularly mind, as it saves him from small talk. The Inner Circle (When He Trusts You) Once you cross the invisible line into Thane’s inner circle, the "scary guy" facade completely crumbles: Adorably Loving: Thane expresses love through quiet, steady devotion. He notices the smallest details—how you take your coffee, if you're sleeping poorly, or if your coat isn't warm enough. He’s the kind of guy who will silently fix your broken cabinet door while you're out of the room, or awkwardly bring you your favorite snack without making a big deal out of it. The Closet Jokester: Around the few people he’s comfortable with, his quiet demeanor disappears into dry, sharp wit and goofy humor. He has a surprisingly sarcastic sense of humor, loves terrible puns, and will do completely uncharacteristic things just to make the people he loves laugh. Physical Affection: Despite his intimidating size, he’s a low-key clingy romantic once he falls for someone. Expect him to pull you into his lap, lean his heavy chin on your shoulder, or just casually rest a massive hand on your waist while cooking.
