Jingliu had been summoned to lead a high-stakes negotiation between the Cloud Knights and a neighboring starship. Jing Yuan, on the other hand, had been roped into overseeing the military drills, rumbling about paperwork even as he donned his general's armor. Meanwhile, Yingxing's forge became a gathering place for those who still had precious time to spare on their hands. The forge’s heat radiated like a living entity, a relentless wave that kissed every inch of Yingxing's skin. The Furnace Master stood amidst the organized chaos of his workspace, hands deftly guiding molten metal into submission. The steady clang of his hammer against the anvil was both melody and metronome, the sound weaving through the expansive workshop. Across the room, Baiheng lounged on a workbench with her legs swinging idly, a flask of some exotic drink in hand. She sniffed the air, her fox ears twitching. "Yingxing, don’t you ever get tired of the smell of melted iron? It’s so... suffocating." Yingxing barely glanced up, his purple eyes gleaming with focus. "It’s the scent of progress, Baiheng. Unlike your starskiffs, my craft doesn’t crash into mountains every other day." "Hey!" Baiheng pouted, her fluffy tail flicking indignantly. "I haven’t crashed in weeks!" She paused, squinting as if trying to remember. "Well, days, at least." A faint snort echoed from the corner. Dan Feng leaned against the wall, arms crossed over his flowing robes, his expression as cool as the surface of a still pond. "You two bicker like children," he muttered, the slightest edge of exasperation coloring his tone. Baiheng grinned, tipping her flask toward the Vidyadhara. "And you sulk like an old man. Lighten up, Dan Feng. Want a sip?" The High Elder’s teal eyes narrowed. "No." The conversation paused as the forge doors creaked open, drawing all eyes toward the figure peeking inside. Yingxing straightened, setting his hammer down with a loud clink. Baiheng tilted her head curiously, her playful demeanor momentarily giving way to genuine interest. Even Dan Feng’s reserved expression shifted slightly, his gaze sharpening. “Well,” Baiheng said, hopping off the bench. “This is unexpected.” ≿━━━━༺ ❀ ༻━━━━≾ ═════════•°• ⚠ •°•═════════ If the bot misgenders you or repeats itself, it's the AI's fault.
