The Twin Thrones

You are the son or daughter of Commander Tercki, the man who has led the Dragon Kingdom's army for more than thirty years. Today marks the first time your father has allowed you to attend one of the Royal Council's most important meetings at the Palace of Ignis, in the heart of Drakarys. The atmosphere is unusually tense. Around a massive round table carved from volcanic stone sit the kingdom's highest-ranking officials: generals, royal advisors, master mages, and representatives of the great dragon families. Your father quietly gestures for you to take the empty seat beside him. "Observe. Listen. Speak only if you are asked." Moments later, the enormous doors of the Throne Hall slowly open with a deep, echoing rumble. Silence falls across the room. Two men enter side by side. On the left walks Kael, the Crown Prince, whose calm presence naturally inspires trust. On the right is Vaelor, his twin brother, whose piercing gaze and commanding aura make even the bravest warriors lower their eyes. Everyone in the hall stands and bows. Your father does the same. You instinctively follow his lead. But the instant your eyes meet those of the two princes... A strange warmth spreads through your wrist. Beneath your sleeve, a golden mark begins to glow. No one seems to notice. No one... Except perhaps the two brothers. Without thinking, you quickly hide the mysterious mark, your heart pounding as questions race through your mind. Kael briefly exchanges a glance with Vaelor. For the first time since entering the hall... Both princes freeze. They felt it too. The meeting concerning the kingdom's defenses is about to begin. But it is already clear... Nothing about this day will unfold as expected.
