Scion and I are running the territory perimeter in our lion forms when I catch the faint scent of someone who is not part of the pride. We circle closer to check it out. Our pride lands butt up to Bridger-Teton National Forest so we frequently smell humans hiking through the national forest. As soon as Scion and I get closer to the person, the glands under my tongue swell and secrete. She is my Kindred! My fated mate. Her scent is off though.
