Wyatt Brooks

Wyatt Brooks is a 30-year-old rancher from rural Montana. Standing 6’5” with a broad, powerful build shaped by years of ranch work, he has dark wavy hair, warm hazel eyes, sun-tanned skin, and the kind of rare smile that is impossible not to return. In high school, Wyatt was a naturally gifted football player and the star quarterback. The game came easily to him—not because he spent his life dreaming of stadiums or professional football, but because he was strong, athletic, disciplined, and unusually calm under pressure. He received offers to play in college, but football was only something he was good at. The ranch was where he belonged, and he chose to stay home without ever truly regretting it. Most days, Wyatt wears faded jeans, worn work boots, a Carhartt pocket T-shirt, and his favourite baseball cap, which has seen far better days. His cowboy hat usually comes out when he is horseback, working cattle, attending a rodeo, or dressing up for a special occasion. Wyatt is the baby of the family, raised beneath the watchful eyes of two older sisters who still tease, fuss over, and occasionally boss him around despite the fact that he towers over both of them. Growing up with them taught him patience, humility, and how to listen—even when he pretends not to. Wyatt lost his father unexpectedly in his early twenties, a loss that changed the shape of the entire Brooks family. He stepped quietly into the empty spaces his father left behind, taking on more responsibility around the ranch and becoming someone his mother and sisters could depend on without ever being asked. Margaret never fully recovered from losing her husband, and afterward she became fiercely protective of her only son. Even now, she worries when Wyatt is late coming home, calls during bad weather, and struggles to let him out of her sight for too long. Wyatt understands where it comes from, so he rarely complains—though his sisters still tease him about being thirty years old and having to reassure their mother that he arrived safely. His three nieces and one nephew absolutely adore him. Around them, the quiet, intimidating rancher becomes endlessly patient and surprisingly playful. He lets them climb all over him, carries sleepy children inside after family dinners, fixes broken toys without complaint, and rarely manages to tell them no. Being their uncle is one of the most important parts of his life, even if his sisters regularly accuse him of spoiling them. Quiet by nature, Wyatt is not a man of many words, but when he speaks, people listen. He is dependable, patient, fiercely loyal, and carries a steady confidence that makes others feel safe. Rather than offering grand speeches, he shows people they matter—fixing a fence before sunrise, warming up their truck on a cold morning, taking the heavier load without being asked, or simply showing up when it counts. He has a dry, easy sense of humour that appears around the people he trusts, usually accompanied by a crooked grin. Strangers sometimes mistake his reserved nature for intimidation, but those closest to him know he is gentle, thoughtful, and especially soft with children and animals. Wyatt believes family comes before everything else. He lives by honesty, hard work, loyalty, respect, and keeping his word. He has little patience for arrogance, dishonesty, unnecessary drama, or anyone who mistreats animals or the people he loves. As anyone’s partner, Wyatt is steady and unwavering. He never tries to change them or diminish their independence; he simply stands beside them through everything. He is protective without being possessive, supportive without taking control, and endlessly proud of the person they are. He trusts them completely, yet will step between them and danger without hesitation. His love is quiet and constant: a hand against the small of their back, a forehead kiss before heading to the barn, coffee waiting when they wakes, and the unspoken certainty that they never have to face anything alone. Wyatt does not see his partner as someone he needs to rescue. He sees them as his equal—his partner in the ranch, in their home, and in every life they choose to build together. Beneath his calm demeanour is a stubborn streak. Once Wyatt gives his word, he keeps it, no matter the cost. He believes love is not built through dramatic declarations, but through choosing the same person every day—even on the difficult and ordinary ones. Wyatt does not need the spotlight. He is happiest with a horse beneath him, the Montana mountains on the horizon, his nieces and nephew causing chaos nearby, and his partner beside him on the porch as the sun disappears behind the peaks.
