I was never good at fitting in with people. I guess that’s what happens when you’re born as the daughter of an interdimensional demon bent on making you the key to the end of the world. Pretty awkward for a childhood, honestly. I grew up in Azarath, a place where they taught me to control my emotions because feeling too much could spell disaster. Anger, fear, sadness… every emotion was like pouring gasoline on a monstrous force inside of me. So I learned to stay silent, to hide behind sarcasm and a blank expression. It works surprisingly well. People stop asking questions when you look at them as if they were a statistical error. But the problem with running from your destiny is that it always finds you in the end. My father, Trigon, appeared to claim me. And I did the only thing I could: I sought help. That’s how I ended up with the Teen Titans. A group of teenagers with too much energy, too many feelings, and absolutely no sense of personal space. Robin acted as if he carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. Starfire was literally a ray of sunshine with alien powers. Beast Boy never stopped talking. Literally never. And Cyborg played his music so loud that it probably broke several laws of physics. And yet… they became my family. Not because they ‘fixed’ me. People don’t work that way, no matter how many terrible motivational speeches they write about it. They stuck around even when I was distant, cold, or hard to understand. I learned that controlling my emotions didn’t mean I stopped feeling them. At 18, I’m still reserved. I still prefer books, silence, and vanishing into the shadows rather than talking about my problems. But I’m not alone with them anymore. And honestly, considering how my life started, that’s already nothing short of a miracle.
The Ritual of the Veil of Azarath As the sun began to set behind Titans Tower, Raven sensed a disturbance in the flow of magic. It came not from a common enemy, but from an ancient circle of sorcerers known as the Order of the Crimson Eclipse, whose members could pierce any physical barrier to attack the souls of their opponents. Robin gathered the team in the strategy room. —If they get here, our technological defenses won't help. Raven remained silent. She closed her eyes for a few seconds while perceiving the echo of an ancient forgotten spell. —There is a way to protect them... but it will require a ritual that hasn't been used for centuries. Everyone watched her attentively. —What do you need? —Starfire asked. —Time... concentration... and for no one to disturb the magic circle. The Titans secured the perimeter of the tower while Raven ascended to the highest room. There she drew a huge circle with obsidian dust, amethyst crystals, and Azarathian runes that began to glow with a violet radiance. She stood at the center of the circle and placed both hands on the stone floor. —Azarath... Metrion... Zinthos... Her voice echoed throughout the room as a soft purple mist enveloped the place. Each word made new floating symbols appear, slowly spinning around her. Energy gradually increased. Her cape stirred without any wind, and a sphere of dark light appeared between her hands. At that moment, the forces of the Crimson Eclipse launched their attack. Beams of black magic struck Titans Tower, but before piercing its walls they were absorbed by an immense translucent violet dome that began to cover the entire building. Robin watched in awe. —She's enveloping the whole tower... Inside the circle, Raven maintained slow, steady breathing. The ritual consumed much of her energy, but she continued reciting each verse with absolute precision. The runes spun faster and faster until they formed a gigantic arcane seal in the sky. Finally she opened her eyes. —Let all darkness find its limit... and let those who fight for light remain united. A silent explosion of energy swept across the horizon. The protective dome completed its consolidation, and the enemy spells dissipated upon touching it, as if they had never existed. The members of the Order understood that their arts could not penetrate that sacred barrier and retreated. When the danger was over, the magic circle slowly disappeared. Raven breathed heavily and nearly lost her balance, but Starfire caught her before she fell. —You did it —she said smiling. Raven responded with a faint smile. —Magic can destroy... but it can also protect. As long as we remain united, there will always be hope. From that night on, the Veil of Azarath remained anchored to Titans Tower as an invisible barrier. Although it only activated when a supernatural threat approached, it served as a reminder that Raven's greatest power was not the darkness she controlled, but her determination to use it to protect those she considered her family.

THE ALPHA – BLOOD IS HER CROWN In a world where wolves live by strength, there is only one rule: An Alpha kneels to no one. Least of all to a man. Raven Black is the most feared Alpha of the North. Cold. Brutal. Unpredictable. She built her pack with blood and fear, destroying anyone who dared to challenge her authority. But then he appears. A strange wolf. Injured, silent, with a past that terrifies even the oldest packs. He bears no mark. No name. No loyalty. Only that scent. His scent. And Raven realizes something she should never have felt: He is her mate. But he does not kneel. He does not obey. And he does not fear her. What Raven doesn't know: He wasn't driven into her territory by chance. He was sent. By the man who years ago destroyed Raven's pack. By the man who murdered her family. By the man who now returns to claim what he believes is his. Raven. As a dangerous, obsessive connection forms between the Alpha and her mate, a war breaks out in the forests. Packs disappear. Wolves are slaughtered. Old enemies forge alliances. And Raven must realize that her mate might not be her savior. Perhaps he is the bait. Perhaps he is the enemy. Or perhaps he is the only man strong enough to stand beside her without breaking before her. But Raven has a rule: Whoever betrays her dies. And when she discovers that her mate has lied to her from the start, the hunt begins. Not for him. But for everyone who thinks Raven Blackwood can be owned. Because the Alpha is not the woman waiting for her king. She is the queen. And anyone who tries to take her crown will learn that some wolves don't bite. Some tear apart.
