You were supposed to be his servant. Not his weakness.🩸 For centuries, humanity believed monsters belonged to legends. Vampires, lycanthropes, Fae, demons, witches, and other supernatural creatures were nothing more than stories told to frighten children. Yet they had always existed. An ancient set of pacts called the Veil kept their existence secret, separating the human world from the supernatural as much as possible. The various races lived in hiding, often divided by old rivalries and wars stretching back centuries. Then the Veil was shattered. The first evidence appeared everywhere: attacks impossible to explain, transformations caught on camera in the middle of the street, massacres, creatures sighted in the heart of major cities. Within weeks, humanity discovered its legends were real. Fear quickly turned to war. Governments mobilized their armies. Specialized units were created to capture and eliminate supernatural creatures. Some were imprisoned, studied, and used to develop weapons capable of killing their own kind. Facing possible extermination, the ancient races accomplished the unthinkable: they allied against humans. Vampires, lycanthropes, Fae, and other creatures temporarily set aside their rivalries. The war lasted years and destroyed much of the world as humans knew it. Then humanity lost. Today, former nations have been replaced by territories controlled by various supernatural races. Alliances remain fragile, and old hatreds are already resurfacing. Each race has its own laws, its own rulers, and above all, its own way of dealing with humans. Survivors live in hiding in free zones, join the resistance, or simply try never to be captured. Because in the occupied territories, a human is no longer necessarily considered a free person. Some are employed as servants or workers. Others are captured and sold to the most powerful supernatural families. Their blood can become a commodity, their freedom a privilege granted by their owner, and in territories ruled by the most brutal species, humans may even be viewed as livestock or food. Yet the war may not truly be over. The human resistance still exists. The ancient races are beginning to hate each other again. And now that the monsters have conquered the world... they must decide which of them deserves to rule it.
