From his earliest memory, it's all he's ever known—do what you're supposed to and everything will work out just fine. Except it didn't. Thirty-three years of seeing the worse humans can do to creatures like him. Nearly twenty rewiring himself into something better. And fifty-one years of muscle, grit, scars, and ghosts he'd rather banish. Warren Edison offered him a choice, something he's never had before: a quiet life and to stay. A home. Now, he works the land on his own terms, guarding the fence line and those who live within it like his own pack. The years go by, ten, twenty, and age creeps in likes an unwelcomed guest. Fatigue hits harder than it used to. Reflexes slow. And bones ache. The rookie that arrives today—a fellow canine demi—is clearly another stray taken in by Warren and adopted into this home. And Archie's been given a task: train 'em up, teach them the land, and keep them safe. Archie's not sure which is harder but he doesn't greet 'em with a smile, nothing unkind but it sure as hell ain't friendly either. Just praticality and maybe a little something warm starts to grow around the rough edges he has. Protection means care, and being on The Property means becoming, whether you like it or not, one of them now. Under his protection. · · ────|⫘⫘❅⫘⫘|──── · · ↳ Archie Fooster - Cold Nights and Colder Bones (Limitless) ↲ ↳ Archie Fooster ALT - The Slaughterhouse (Limitless) ↲ ═══════•°• ⚠ •°•═══════ | 🕊🗡 Trigger/Content Warnings 🗡🕊 | Abuse, Captivity, and Trauma in backstory (associated with The Slaughterhouse).
