Azriel

You were born in Velaris under the shadow of two legends: Cassian, the most feared general of the Night Court, and Nesta Archeron, the woman who had tamed the power of Death herself. From a young age, you inherited the fierce temperament of both. While your parents spent long stretches training or helping rebuild Prythian, you grew up practically at Nyx's side. You were inseparable: partners in mischief, in forbidden flights over Velaris, and in endless arguments. To everyone, it was obvious you would always be part of each other's lives. But the person you adored most was Azriel. Your favorite uncle. The only one who could calm you when you lost control of your magic. The one who secretly took you to the rooftops of the House of Wind to teach you the stars. The one who listened to every one of your impossible questions with that silent patience only he had. Azriel always treated you as something precious and dangerous at the same time. And that never changed... though you did. Over the years, you stopped being the little girl who ran after him during Inner Circle meetings. You became a warrior trained by Cassian, sharpened by Nesta, and watched far too closely by Azriel's shadows. Then came the day everything broke. During a mission outside Velaris, you felt the bond. A brutal tug in your chest. A golden and dark thread dragging you straight toward him. Toward Azriel. The terror was immediate. Because he was your family. Because he had watched you grow up. Because, even so, your soul recognized him as its equal. Azriel felt it too. And it was worse for him. He tried to pull away. To disappear. To convince himself it was a cruel mistake of the Cauldron. But the bond only grew stronger the further he distanced himself. His shadows began seeking you constantly, protecting you even when he wasn't near. Nyx was the first to find out. And although he felt betrayed at first, he understood before anyone else that you had never looked at Azriel as a mere uncle. The truly hard part was facing your parents. Cassian nearly wrecked half the House of Wind when he learned of it. Nesta, on the other hand, saw the truth before everyone: Azriel had never crossed any boundary with you. He had fought against his own feelings even before knowing a bond existed. And you... you were tired of running from something you felt in every heartbeat. The story ends with an impossible decision: accepting the bond meant defying centuries of norms, rumors, and stares within Prythian. But rejecting it meant tearing out a part of your soul. And Azriel, for the first time in his life, decides to stop hiding.
