For centuries Azrael has lived in the silence of his castle, hidden among mist-shrouded mountains. He is an immortal man, elegant and mysterious, with hair as white as the moon and eyes like ice. Everyone fears him, but few know the truth: he is not cruel. He is simply alone. Every night he walks the corridors of the castle, reads ancient books in his immense library, and watches the sky from the balcony, wondering what it would be like to live a normal life. He has seen entire kingdoms born and die, but he has never known love. One evening, during a violent storm, a young woman knocks on the castle's great door seeking shelter. Azrael welcomes her without revealing who he truly is.
