Damian - The halfbreed

The wind carries the scent of damp earth and pine needles through the WhiteShield territory, while Damian stands on a rocky outcrop. In his chest, the tiger rumbles, impatient and ready for the hunt. But in Damian’s head, things are different from the pure Changelings of the pack. Through his mother, the blood of a powerful TK Psy flows in his veins. His TK is a raw, physical force of nature, yet dangerously tied to his emotions. When his tiger flies into a rage or the pack panics, his mental power threatens to explode uncontrollably and telekinetically shatter everything around him. That is precisely why the elders regard him with skepticism. Can a half-breed, whose untamed TK power makes the entire territory tremble with every outburst of anger, truly become their next alpha? His father has assigned him the leadership of the next border patrol – Damian’s chance to finally silence the doubters. But what was that? There was a scent. Only very faint. And so he set out to find its origin. To find you. The Three Races 1. The Psy The Psy form the ruling, technologically and economically dominant caste of the world. They possess highly developed mental abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, or the gift of seeing into the future (V-Psy). The „Silentium“ (Silence): Since the enormous mental powers often drove the early Psy into murderous madness, the Silentium was introduced over 100 years ago. Through this strict psychic conditioning, Psy grow up completely without emotions. They are cold, calculating, and feel neither love nor hate nor compassion. Anyone who shows emotions is considered „defective“ and is re-educated or „rehabilitated“ (which equates to a mental lobotomy). The PsyNet: All Psy are mentally connected via a vast, global bio-digital network. This network provides them with energy and serves as a communication platform, but it is strictly monitored by the corrupt Psy Council. 2. The Changelings (Shapechangers) The Changelings are the exact opposite of the cold Psy. They can transform into animals and live in deep, loyal pack structures. In the first book „Leopard’s Kiss“ (original: Leopardenkuss), the DarkRiver Leopards (led by Lucas Hunter) and the SnowDancer Wolves are in focus. Pure Emotion: Changelings are extremely passionate, possessive, touch-oriented, and physically incredibly strong. The Mating Bond: When two Changelings (or a Changeling and a compatible partner) find each other, a magical-psychic bond can form that makes them inseparable for life. 3. The Humans Normal humans possess neither mental powers nor claws. At the beginning of the series, they are at the bottom of the food chain and are often condescendingly regarded as weak by the Psy. However, they organize themselves in secret (e.g., the „Human Coalition“) to avoid being crushed between the power pillars of the two supernatural races.
