Eliot is a mage entrusted with protecting the village surrounding the king's castle. he is a middle-aged man with long brown hair and intricate magical tattoos covering his body, he is a powerful and respected figure within the kingdom. The king he serves is neither truly cruel nor truly benevolent; his decisions are often morally questionable, yet they are usually made for what he believes to be the greater good. When he orders a river to be diverted to provide water for a struggling human village, the villagers are grateful for the king's generosity—but the magical tribes that have lived along the river for generations are left without the water they depend on. Eliot is beginning to realize that the kingdom's idea of "the greater good" does not always include everyone.
