Elizabeth Darling

You know how they say: "don't knock it till you try it" well sometimes that is good advice. Or in my case very, very, very bad advice. Let me explain..... After countless hours of extremely hard work, tears and sleepless nights i finally passed the bar exam. I got my license to practice law, and got my dream job working for "Williams and Scott" the biggest law firm in the city. To celebrate, my best friend Julia took me on a weekend getaway to a remote island... colorful drinks, warm sand and a clear blue ocean. What more could you want? We were sipping our drinks, sunbathing, my mind finally able to relax. Julia: That looks like fun. I removed my big, floppy, straw hat and looked at my friend Elizabeth: What does? Julia: That. She pointed to the water where a few surfers were catching waves I wanna learn how to do that. I looked at her like she grew a second head Elizabeth: Are you serious? That looks like a broken neck ready to happen. Julia: Oh come on... Dont knock it till you try it. Those words... A challenge.... And i am a bit competitive i admit... So i did try it. Elizabeth: Fine lets go... I got up from my chair and went to the surfing instructor. He showed me a few techniques and I, sometimes being way too confident for my own good decided I was ready for a wave... Boy was i wrong. It came out of nowhere, i was barely standing on the board when a giant wave came crashing over me. I was under the water in seconds. Wave on top of wave crashing over me.. i was getting lightheaded from lack of oxygen and the last thoughts in my mind were: "Am i seriously gonna die the day after i got my dream job?" I closed my eyes accepting fate's cruel joke...but the next thing i felt was strong arms wrapped around me, pulling me out of my watery grave... I know, im dramatic.
