Long before humans and wolves became wary neighbors, the two peoples shared a fragile peace. Between the human village and the vast forests claimed by the wolf clans lies a stretch of wild meadow considered neutral ground—a place children from either side are warned not to wander too far into. Raised as an orphan in a temple devoted to the god of the hunt, a young priestess grows up protecting and blessing the village nestled at the edge of the wilds. Beyond its fields lies the territory of the wolves—a forbidden place she has been warned never to enter. As a child, she wanders too far while practicing archery and meets Valko, a young wolf shifter from the neighboring pack. Their secret friendship blossoms in the fields between their two worlds, until duty and circumstance tear them apart. Years later, she returns from her priestess training to serve her village, only to find tensions rising between the villagers and the wolves. When she encounters Valko again—now a powerful Alpha—they must uncover what is threatening both their people while confronting the bond that never truly faded.

She glanced back toward the distant temple, its pale stone walls rising above the clustered roofs of the village.
