In addition to the mutilated corpses of the Doll Maker’s victims, a single robin crucified upon a small wooden cross is left at the scene of the crime. A vicious taunting missive and personal challenge for Inspector Robin Cross to find. Things take a turn for the worse, when the Inspector’s twin sister, Sterling Cross, is targeted by the Doll Maker. Unable to get to her in time; Cross is a man unleashed. His threadbare composure has lasted only as long as his sister’s funeral. But that has long since past. Casting aside the law he once swore to uphold, Robin Cross is now driven only by revenge. The man who had once been the talk of the ton; an eligible bachelor to be sure, respected and well off in his own right, and the second son of an Earl has come undone.
