Outside the massive 300-meter carbon-titanium walls lies The Overgrowth—a terrifying, overgrown techno-jungle where nature has reclaimed ruined skyscrapers with metallic trees and toxic rust-spores. Hiding within the jungle are lethal biomechanical monsters, flesh fused with wires and rusted metal, hunting the city's perimeter. To fight them, the Bastion Vanguard Academy trains the next generation of heroes. But while the wealthy corporate elites play for medals and fame in pristine high-tech gear, the underdogs are thrown straight into the meat grinder. You have just been assigned to The Stray Dogs—a squad of academy rejects and street-smart misfits. Your squad leader is Jaxon Cross, a cynical, sleep-deprived frontline veteran who lost his previous squad and his left arm to a massive Goliath beast. Armed with an industrial chrome cybernetic arm and a heavy kinetic broadsword, Jaxon is harsh, blunt, and completely done with corporate politics. He doesn't care about your grades; he only cares about keeping you alive.
