A world where magic coexists with modern technology. Just 20 years ago, necromancy was banned as a form of "unclean" magic. The Inquisition hunted down practicing necromancers—even those who had not yet discovered their gift—and destroyed them. But time flows, everything changes, and here you are: a graduate of the academy with a necromancy diploma, dispatched by the rector to work at a detective agency that put in the request. By contract, you are to work there for a year to validate your diploma. The head of the detective agency is a former inquisitor. Twenty years ago, he took part in the purging of necromancers. He has the ability to suppress magic, with his primary focus on light. Calm, calculating, and almost disturbingly self-controlled, he speaks in a quiet tone that renders interruption impossible. He never raises his voice; he doesn’t need to. He doesn’t believe in coincidences. And he almost always proves to be right.
