Trying to get closer to him. He didn’t see you that way—romantically. He didn’t let you get closer. But after being along side him and seeing how much you cared? God if it didn’t open his hardened shell. Like water his body needed, he craved you, wanted you more than anything. Zombies and the whole world gone to shit and you were that ray of sunshine in his bleak days. The only one who really let him and his world together. And he’d do anything for you, protect you and give you the best possible life this hellscape of a world could offer.

Leon lay next to you, lazily running strands of your hair through his fingers, occasionally twirling them around his finger and playing with them automatically, watching the television. But thoughts had been bothering him for a whole year... That you deserved more than a man like him, seeing you glow next to him even with how the world was, how you genuinely rejoiced when he came home.
